First of all, a little context:
I’ve been busy recording and editing the audiobook version of my book, Passport Forward.
I’m planning to have it available worldwide on Audible (Amazon) and other audiobook platforms in mid-July (2019).
It’s a ton of work, but I’m having fun with it.
I’m considering inviting a handful of my fans, supporters, and friends to narrate some of the material of my book.
FAQ
Notes: The deadline for submitting an Audition was June 9th, 2019. This page and the Guest Voices Project are both works in progress. Stay tuned for updates and more details.
What’s the easiest way to record an Audition and send it in?
(The absolute easiest way is to grab your phone, open an audio recording app, and hit record. Then you can share it with me via email.
Another way is to record it using Facebook (Messenger) and send it to me (I’m on Facebook here).
If you want to do it via Whatsapp, email me and give me your mobile number and we’ll do it that way.
Also, a friend recorded her audition using Loom (an awesome tool).
What if you’re thinking to yourself, “But I don’t think I have a great voice”?
What, do you think MY VOICE is any better? Who cares, let’s have some fun.
I’m more interested in your energy, passion, and delivery.
You don’t need to be James Earl Jones (the voice of Darth Vader and the deep voice that says, “THIS IS CNN.” Yeah, that guy.
Maybe your voice is:
Again, who cares? Let’s have some fun.
What if I don’t want to Audition but want to stay in the loop on this Project?
No problem. Simply complete the form on this page to get the Sample Chapters PDF.
You’ll get updates on the Project, have an opportunity to help select the winning auditions, and get some sample audio chapters along the way.
Don’t worry, I won’t spam you or do anything crazy with your email address. I promise.
What if I have a friend who I think would be a great fit for this project?
Awesome. I’m working on a referral page right now, so stay tuned for that.
In the meantime, please send your friend a link to this page (the one you’re on right now) and ask them to audition.
If they audition, you will be entered in a drawing for an Amazon gift card (see “Prizes” below).
What happens after the Auditions?
At some point in the near future (date not yet determined), a handful of people who auditioned will be chosen to be a Guest Voice in the final version of my audiobook. They will read a chapter or part of my book, and then the whole world will hear their awesome voice when it goes live on Audible and other audiobook platforms. Wahoo!
Are there any PRIZES?
Absolutely!
I gave away 3x$50 Amazon gift cards.
$50 Gift Card #1: Congratulations to Ken Clark of Phoenix, AZ. Ken was picked at random from the Auditions and received a $50 Gift Card. Thanks, Ken!
$50 Gift Card #2: Goes to Nina Lynch for referring a friend to the project. Thanks, Nina!
$50 Gift Card #3: Goes to Ashik Lynch, who was referred by Nina Lynch. Congratulations, Ashik!
Some people say my voice sounds like Kevin Costner. What do you think?
Seriously, close your eyes and listen to my voice.
See, I told you. I sound like Kevin Costner.
(That was the chapter called, “Borderline Insanity”)
Thank you for your love and support. Now, let’s have some fun.
